Micah Camden

Micah Camden's passion for restaurants and cooking wasn't born from a romanticized childhood full of memories of working in the garden with his father or peeling carrots in the kitchen with his grandmother. Rather, Micah's earliest impressions of food came from gourmet cooking shows on public television.

His story begins in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the youngest of ten, Micah first discovered his passion for the culinary arts while traveling across the United States, Europe and Asia working as a freelance makeup artist. Five years later, Micah dove into the culinary industry with the hope and intention of opening of his own restaurant.

The move to Portland, Oregon happened at age 25. Now a self-taught chef, Micah made his debut at 750ml in the Pearl District. When 750ml was sold to the popular Los Angeles-based restaurant chain Cobras & Matadors, Micah remained on as the opening chef.

A great partnership began when Micah met Dayna McErlean, a young developer finishing up her first building in NE Portland. Fueled by blind ambition, they coupled their experiences in design and concept and gave life to Yakuza, one of the most vibrant restaurants in Portland today.
